The Airport
The children have been travelling all over the world in Aistear this month as we take on the theme of 'The Airport'. We had lots of different activities to take part in such as role-play, building airports using lego and polydrons, creating airport related items with Play-Doh and making patterns.
The children's imaginations flew higher than any aeroplane!!

Library trip
The Toy Shop
This month our theme in Aistear was The Toy Shop. We brought our favourite toys into class for Show and Tell. We also brought in toys from the past.
Easter Art
Nature Walk
We went on a nature walk around the school grounds. We found lots of living things in our local environment. We drew pictures of flowers and trees and labelled their different parts. We saw lots of signs of Spring and new life on our nature walk.
The Garden Centre
Our theme this month is the Garden Centre. We are learning about how flowers and plants grow. We are enjoying planting seeds and flowers in the garden centre. We are reading lots of stories about flowers, plants and gardens in the classroom. This is a really fun theme to explore.
The Bakery
We are learning about the bakery in the junior classroom. We put on our baker's hats this morning and made some dough. We used flour, butter and water. First, we mixed the flour and the butter together. Then we added the water and continued mixing. We put the dough on the table and sprinkled flour on it. We kneaded the dough. Finally, we shaped the dough into scones, croissants and pastries. We had great fum leaning how to make dough.
Aistear
We love to construct and create using materials we gather from home. Look at some of our amazing creations!
P.E. on Fridays
We love our PE class on Friday mornings. Joseph brings lots of equipment with him and we always have great fun and games!
Christmas Fun and Games
The children enjoyed festive fun and games in their classroom this month.
Maths and Science Week 2021
The junior room played with lots of different maths games during Maths Week. They played Bingo, dice games, Dominos and clock games. They used the ipads for counting games, addition games and pattern games.
The junior room had lots of fun during Science Week completing cool and interesting experiments. These included building with blocks, making shadows and exploring opaque and transparent objects. They also made spaghetti and playdough towers and used lollipop sticks to make various shapes and designs.

Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st Class had great fun outdoors this month, playing outdoor games, playing in the Fairy garden and Samba drumming with Mr. Kelly!
March/April 2021
Junior and Senior Infants and 1st Class have had great fun on the yard since returning to school in March. They made the most of the fine weather by playing with the parachute and the chalk. Here are some photos of their fantastic creations on the tarmac.
December 2019
The Infant room was transformed into Santa's Workshop for the month! The children were very busy getting ready for Christmas. As well as that they had been practising hard for their Christmas Play 'The Innkeeper's Breakfast'.

This month the play corner has been transformed into a Pet Shop!
October 2019
Trip to Castlerea Library
The Infant room went to Castlerea library on Wednesday the 16th of October. They went to see the puppet show of Little Red Riding Hood. There were five puppets Little Red Riding Hood, the big bad wolf, the fireman, granny and little red riding hoods mum. Fairymount school and Saint Paul's school were at the library as well. They also got to read some books. The Infants had so much fun.
A visit from the Playschool
On the 17th of October the Frenchpark playschool class came to visit. The Junior room showed the children from the playschool our project on travel and transport and they played together.
Maths Week
For maths week the infant room played lots of fun maths games. The Infant room did a maths trail with the Senior room.

Trip to Castlerea Train Station
As we are working on our Travel and Transport theme Junior and Senior Infants went to the Train station in Castlerea. They got a tour of the station and everyone got their own ticket. They saw a train arrive into the station which was very exciting. The train driver met all of the children and he let them see inside his cabin. Everyone was delighted.
